Primary Purpose:

 

Assist campus staff in providing safe, secure and efficient hallway transitions and monitor restroom privileges for all students on campus. This position is also responsible for the prevention of truancy and keeping the campus halls orderly.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). Three (3) months of related experience and or training are preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate verbally; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the department; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to read and interpret schedules, maps, and forms; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have empathy for challenged children. Ability to work with specific computer software; ability to work with others in a congenial manner at all times.

COMMUNICATION

Establish and maintain open communication by assisting with conferences as needed with parents, students, principals,

  and teachers.                                                                                                                                                   

Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.

Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
