Primary Purpose:
Assist campus staff in providing safe, secure and efficient hallway transitions and monitor restroom privileges for all students on campus. This position is also responsible for the prevention of truancy and keeping the campus halls orderly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). Three (3) months of related experience and or training are preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate verbally; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the department; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to read and interpret schedules, maps, and forms; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have empathy for challenged children. Ability to work with specific computer software; ability to work with others in a congenial manner at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and listen. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism for daily assignment.
- Be prepared to operate the two-way radio correctly and according to district policy.
- Maintain a presentable appearance, which includes being properly dressed, neatly groomed, and good hygiene.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, parents, and school personnel; always promote company goodwill.
- Must be able to control emergency situations in a proper manner. Must assist in completing campus evacuation drills to local school district and state government standards.
- Must be able and willing to complete and turn in all required documentation to the campus administrative offices in a timely, accurate manner.
- Attend all campus and district required training sessions..
- Responsible for maintaining control of students while in the hallway to ensure a minimum amount of infractions.
- Exercise student management through correct use of communication and discipline and report discipline problems through proper school district procedures.
- Ensure students have ID badge on & have a restroom pass from teacher to enter restroom (send back to class if student does not have either item).
- Notify an administrator immediately whenever a student is non-compliant with restroom policy.
- Collect cell phones before students enter the restroom.
- Keep an accurate student sign-in and sign-out log when entering and leaving the restroom.
- Do not allow more than 1 student in the restroom at a time.
- Inspect restrooms regularly
- Notify custodians immediately if the restroom needs cleaning/maintenance.
- Frequently spray/sanitize high traffic areas (door handles, flush handles, sink areas, etc.)
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, security doors left unlocked, and any unusual activity.
- Record data such as student conflicts and unusual occurrences for use by supervisory staff.
- Regulate pedestrian traffic at school entrance and in halls to maintain orderly flow.
- Monitor the halls and surrounding school premises for truancy.
- Check for students’ hall passes and tardy slips.
- Reports tardiness, truancy and other related incidents to the appropriate school administrator.
- Direct authorized visitors on campus to their proper destination and monitor for unauthorized visitors.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
- Perform any other job-related duties as may be designated by the Campus Principal or designee.
COMMUNICATION
Establish and maintain open communication by assisting with conferences as needed with parents, students, principals,
and teachers.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
